Why choose the Tamarind?

The Tamarind is a uniquely private self-contained holiday mini-resort, set in the middle of a 400-rai private residential estate called “Buraran” and serviced by a well-trained and courteous team of 26 full-time staff (cooks, drivers, waitresses, house-keeping, laundry, gardeners, maintenance etc.)

Do I need to share any facilities with other guests?

Both our villas (Private Resort & Lake Villa) are adjoining but individually-managed and self-contained units and only available for occupancy by single group of friends or family. Although both properties can be rented together (for groups of more than 20 people) we do not rent the same property to separate groups at the same time. The cost of renting one or both are properties is the same, regardless of the number of people involved.

Are electricity and water included?

Yes, electricity, water and wi-fi throughout the properties are included in the rental rate so you won’t have any surprises in your bill at the end of your stay. We kindly ask, however, that guests turn air-conditioning units and TVs off when the rooms are not in use.

Where are the nearest shops and amenities?

Whilst our properties are secluded in a quiet and private estate, we are close to the town centre of Bangsaray (2km away), with convenience stores such as Seven-11, Tesco Lotus, other local shops, restaurants, salons and medical clinic.

How far is the beach?

The nearest and very beautiful beach of Bangsaray is only around 3 kms from the estate. There are also many other local beaches that are mostly controlled and managed by the Thai Navy where you can enjoy natural beauty, away from the mainstream tourists.

How do we get around?

Guests can take advantage of our chauffeured-vehicles including a 13-seater minibus, a luxury SUV and a handy pick-up truck. We charge minimal petrol surcharges based on actual kilometres travelled. Our experienced drivers are always on stand-by and will be happy to take you wherever you want to go. (overtime surcharge applies only for out-of-hour service).

Airport transfers are also easily arranged using our own vehicles, the cost of which depends on which vehicle and/or number of vehicles involved.

What should we do about food arrangements?

We have our own chef and kitchen staff who will be happy to prepare meals of your choice, be it Thai or International. We suggest you advise us of your food preferences in advance of your arrival to ensure that our kitchen/dining staff have everything prepared ahead of time. We kindly ask that a security deposit is transferred to our guest account to cover for any food and drinks expenses during your stay. This security deposit will be refunded at the end of your stay, minus any expenses incurred.

How are we charged for food?

We only charge for the actual cost of the food and add a small per-head service charge for lunches and dinners (see below). Our House Manager is happy to provide guests with copies of all shopping receipts during and at the end of your stay:

  • Breakfast: no supplement charge, only cost of raw food & materials

  • Lunch: 100 baht per person in supplement charge plus cost of raw food & materials

  • Dinner: 150 baht per person in supplement charge plus cost of raw food & materials

What are meal supplement charges?

These minimal charges cover our service costs i.e. shopping, cooking, waitress service etc.

What is the security deposit?

The security deposit is required to cover the costs incurred during your stay (food, drinks, massages, transportation, trainers, tennis pros, yoga teachers etc.) as well as any breakages. The security deposit is payable in advance of your arrival and will be returned to you on check-out date after deducting all of your expenses.

How much security deposit is required?

The deposit amount of THB 30,000 is required for The Tamarind Private Resort (9 BR) and THB 15,000 for the Tamarind Lake Villa (6 BR) or as advised in your reservation form. This deposit will be requested nearer your month of arrival and payable by bank transfer to our guest account to ensure that all advance meal requests etc. can be purchased in time of your arrival.

I’m organizing a large group reunion. Is the property big enough to accommodate all my guests?

Both our properties are generous in size and with ample facilities that are ideal for large group of guests. Our 9 bedroom and 6 bedroom villas can be rented together to make 15 bedrooms which can accommodate 32 guests in its normal capacity. Extra beds can be arranged on request, should you expect more guests (extra bed charges apply).

Are there any activities nearby?

There are many renowned attractions in close proximity to our villa. Please see our Activities web page for a list of these activities.

You will also be pleased to know that there are also many activities inside our villa that you can enjoy during your stay should you prefer to stay in.

Can we have visitors during our stay?

While visiting guests are welcome, the rental only includes the number of guests as specified in your reservation and not to exceed maximum occupancy agreed ahead of time.

Are we allowed to host a party at your villa?

Although our properties are uniquely located and equipped for special events we ask that guests tell us ahead of time what they have planned. Our properties are located in a private residential estate and as a courtesy to the other residents we like to inform them ahead of time if there is going to be unusually loud music played and significant numbers of people involved. Moreover, we may need to bring in extra staff to help out (weddings, birthday parties, corporate events etc.)

Should we tip your staff?

We attach no % service charges or VAT attached to guest bills but Staff gratuities are much appreciated.

We have 26 full-time staff between the two properties so rather than giving tips to individual staff members we suggest providing our House Manager with just one tip for all the Staff. This will be fairly distributed to all the staff depending on the degree of the individual staff involvement and effort.
